Student Performance Opportunities
Cafés are once or twice per semester on a week night from 6:00-7:300 pm and offer an informal atmosphere for students to try out their most recent material before performing it in more formal settings such as school productions, auditions, recitals, and open mics. We have pizza and age-appropriate beverages so that everyone can have dinner at the studio.
Recitals are end-of-the semester opportunities to perform in a more formal atmosphere complete with professional accompaniment, sound equipment, and lights.
Open mics take place at many venues, but I run one at the Country Tavern and at Donahue’s Madison Beach Grille. They are great performance opportunities for musicians who are on deck to become professionals but aren’t ready to put on their own show. Often professional musicians are also present, performing, and working on their own acts, so it’s a great atmosphere for beginning performers to get their chops. Each one has it’s own set of guidelines, so read up before coming out to perform.
